Keldo Ramzi Oghanna , Director General of Syriac Culture and Arts in the Kurdistan Region, received the expatriate Syriac artist, Suad Elias, accompanied by the writer Boutros Nabati, on Tuesday, 11 Jan 2023, at the General Directorate building.
The visiting artist praised the activities and events held by the General Directorate of Syriac Culture and Arts in the various regions of our people’s presence, the latest of which was the Syriac Cultural Week 2022, which was held for the period 8-12 last December, moving between the cities of Nohadra and Zakho in Dohuk Governorate, Alqosh and Teleskuf in the Nineveh Plain.
Oghanna emphasized the importance and effectiveness of the artist’s role in conveying the message of his people through the art he presents, praising the artist’s generous career, Suad Elias, and affirming the readiness of the General Directorate of Syriac Culture and Arts to support all the artists of our people and cooperate with all cultural institutions to serve the Syriac culture.
