The Kurdistan Regional Government’s Minister of Culture and Youth Muhammad Hama Saeed visited St. Mary’s Assyrian Church of the East in Moscow on Wednesday 18 October 2023, accompanied by Dr. Danar Mustafa, representative of the regional government in Russia, and an accompanying delegation.
They were received by the pastor of the church Chorbishop Samano Odisho, a Christian Assyrian from Iraqi Kurdistan. During the meeting, they discussed fraternal coexistence between all religious and national components in the region and their influential role in developing art, heritage and culture.
Saeed indicated that his ministry places work on hindering the spirit of tolerance and peaceful coexistence as a strategic goal, and it has general directorates to serve the art, heritage and culture of people of diverse components.
Chorbishop Odisho also praised the reality of peaceful coexistence between all components of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region, thanking the efforts of the Ministry of Culture and Youth and its interest in the arts and culture of all components.
