Oghanna Participates in the Conclusion of the Nineveh Plain Youth Empowerment Workshop in Erbil

On Sunday 18 February 2024, Director General of Syriac Culture and Arts, Kaldo Ramzi Oghanna, participated in the conclusion of a training workshop organised by the Little Messengers Organisation in the city of Erbil, in which Nineb Lamassu lectured, with the aim of empowering a number of the Nineveh Plain’s youth in the field of business management and small projects.

The workshop was supported by the Dutch SALT Foundation and lasted for three days. Its organisers addressed the topic of “Strategic Planning for Business Management,” which included concepts for the creation of new and creative projects in order to realise them in the Nineveh Plain in general, but also to enhance the role of youth in maintaining our existence.

On the sidelines of the workshop, Oghanna stressed that “survival is linked to creating job opportunities for young people and the necessity of empowering them in the field of work. This is one of the main and most important reasons for an individual to cling to their land and build a future for young people emerging in their historical areas in the Nineveh Plain.”

At the conclusion of the workshop, Director General Kaldo Ramzi Oghanna participated in distributing certificates of appreciation to the participants.

It is worth noting that the Little Messengers for Relief and Development is a local organisation registered in the central and regional governments’ Civil Society Organisations Departments. It was established in 2014 after ISIS took control of the Nineveh Plain region.
