The third day of the Ankawa Christmas Festival, Monday 25 December 2023, began its activities at Hope Nursing Home for the Elderly in Ankawa, with a party in which the home’s residents shared their joy on the occasion of Christmas and the New Year.
The Director General of Syriac Culture and Arts in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region, Kaldo Ramzi Oghanna, participated in the ceremony, accompanied by the great artist Yousif Aziz, who presented a number of songs and musical pieces. This entertained the elderly, who interacted with the melodies through their participation in the activities and traditional dances presented by members of the Directorate’s Syriac Arts Ensemble. These activities brought happiness and joy to the hearts of the residents of the complex for the elderly in Ankawa District Centre, Erbil Governorate.
It is worth noting that the third annual Ankawa Christmas Festival, held under the auspices of the Ankawa District Mayor and the General Directorate of Syriac Culture and Arts, with the participation of a number of youth and social civil society organisations, continues for 10 days during the Christmas and New Year holidays in the gardens of the Social Academic Center in Ankawa.
