The Director General of Syriac Culture and Arts in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region, Kaldo Ramzi Oghanna, participated in the funeral ceremony of Syriac director Tahir Said Matti, which was held on Saturday 30 December 2023, at the Queen of Peace Syriac Catholic Church in Ankawa District Centre, Erbil Governorate. After the church ceremony, the deceased was buried in his final resting place at the Hope Cemetery in Ankawa, in the presence of a crowd of his fans and friends.
It is worth noting that the General Directorate of Syriac Culture and Arts mourns Syriac director Tahir Said Matti, who passed away, at dawn on Friday 29 December 2023, as a result of a sudden heart attack that claimed his life in the Ankawa district of Erbil Governorate.
