On Tuesday, 12 September 2023, Kaldo Ramzi Oghanna, Director General of Syriac Culture and Arts in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region, participated in the opening of an exhibition of photographs of the Christian Peshmerga who participated in Kurdistani revolutions. This was held by the Ishtar Center for Culture and Arts in Zakho, sponsored by Mar Felix Al-Shabi, head of the Chaldean Catholic Diocese of Zakho, and funded by the General Directorate of Syriac Culture and Arts.
The Syriac Cultural Directorate’s delegation, headed by Director-General Kaldo Ramzi Oghanna, visited Mar Felix Al-Shabi at the episcopal residence. The delegation included Bernard Youssef, Director of Syriac Heritage and the Museum, Fouad Shimoun, Administrative Director, and a number of the Directorate’s employees.
The delegation briefed the diocese on the various activities and events sponsored and organized by the General Directorate of Syriac Culture and Arts in the various areas where our people are present, and where Oghanna confirmed the Directorate’s readiness to cooperate with the Church and all our people’s cultural and artistic institutions in organising more.
