On Monday 22 July 2024, the Kurdistan Regional Government’s Director General of Syriac Culture and Arts received the Masarat Foundation’s General Coordinator, Dr. Saad Salloum, at the Directorate’s building in Ankawa District Centre.
The two parties exchanged talks about ways of joint cooperation in the field of disseminating Syriac culture and planning to hold joint events, in addition to discussing the Masarat Foundation’s participation and contribution to the First Athra Syriac Symposium, which the Directorate intends to hold in cooperation with the Yonan Hozaya Centre for Research and Future Studies in Erbil Governorate’s Ankawa District.
It is worth noting that Masarat, a non-profit organisation concerned with studying minorities, collective memory, and interfaith dialogue, is officially registered in Iraq. The organisation publishes a group of books and specialised studies in the fields of cultural pluralism, literature, history, and sociology.
