On Saturday, 24 June 2023, the Director General of Syriac Culture and Arts in the Kurdistan Regional Government participated in the dialogue session organized by Kurdistan Hewler University in Erbil in cooperation with the British University of Cambridge, which dealt with the issue of the oral heritage of the components in the region.
Kaldo Ramzi Oghanna stressed the need to pay attention to the oral heritage and the folk tale, as they represent the identity of peoples, pointing out that it is the first lesson that the child learns during his upbringing.
Oghanna added that the General Directorate of Syriac Culture and Arts always seeks, through the series of articles that it publishes in its magazine “Banipal”, to pay attention to the oral heritage and the folk tale.
This dialogue session was attended by a group of researchers, academics and activists in the Syriac field.
