On Sunday, 7 May 2023, Kaldo Ramzi Oghanna, Director General of Syriac Culture and Arts in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, received a delegation from the Syrian Syriac Cultural Society, in the directorate’s building in Ankawa district in Erbil Governorate.
They talked about the Syriac cultural reality and the challenges it faces in the region, as well as touching on the activities of the General Directorate of Syriac Culture and Arts in the various regions of our people, where the Director General affirmed the General Directorate’s readiness to cooperate with all Syriac cultural and artistic institutions.
The visiting delegation included a member of the Syriac Cultural Society in Syria, Estefo Esho Massoud, and a member of the Society’s scouts, Dany Hanna.
It is worth noting that the “Syriac Cultural Association in Syria” was established in April 2008, and is based in the Syrian city of Qamishli (Beth Zalin).
