Kaldo Ramzi Oghanna, the Kurdistan Regional Government’s Director General of Syriac Culture and Arts, received the two expatriate Syriac writers, Haitham Behnam Burda and Waadallah Elia, on Tuesday, 22 August 2023, at the General Directorate building in Ankawa district centre.
During the meeting, which was attended by writer Boutros Nabati, they talked about the Syriac cultural reality in Iraq and the Diaspora, and the two guests praised the activities of the General Directorate of Syriac Culture and Arts and its diverse activities in our people’s various regions.
While Oghanna stressed the importance of the role of our people’s intellectuals, writers, and artists in making their voice heard all over the world, at the same time, he stressed the General Directorate’s readiness to cooperate with all Syriac cultural and artistic institutions, at home and abroad.
