Banipal maintains its continuity, despite the obstacles, by issuing Issue (47):

The Directorate General of Syriac Culture and Arts in the Kurdistan Region continues its flowing and diverse cultural activity, to complement its publications with the new issue of Banipal magazine (autumn 2022) in both paper and electronic copies, preserving its permanence, despite all obstacles.  The new issue came carrying the sequence (47) to complete the magazine’s renewed march, and it will be the second after its re-issuance.

 The issue was topped by (first word) written by the editor-in-chief, in which he said: “How overjoyed we were at the hospitality with which you welcomed your magazine, Al-Ghala (Banipal), which is returning to its publications after a long hiatus, like a phoenix that has risen, shaking off the ashes from it, all the ashes.  And the praise that you dedicated to Banipal and those who worked on issuing it with sober content and a beautiful outfit. As soon as issue (46) of the magazine saw the light, messages of blessing and praise poured in from those concerned and interested in cultural affairs, personalities and institutions, through their official pages on social networking sites or through direct communication.  Expressing their appreciation for this distinguished cultural achievement, and their anticipation of a bright stage to come, which they described as promising and full of ambitions. We would like to point out here the congratulations that the Minister of Culture and Youth in the Kurdistan Regional Government, Professor (Hama H. Saeed), singled out the magazine, thanking him for his support and that of the Ministry.”.  He added, “As the congratulations poured in, the posts and writings of researchers, writers, academics, and writers of various specializations, enriched the content and provided it with various new things.”

 The new issue was full of solid studies and valuable research, as well as meetings and diverse cultural topics written by elite academics, researchers and creative writers, especially

 The new issue was full of studies, research and articles by a group of professors, writers, academics and researchers.  This issue was distinguished by the publication of a historical study by His Beatitude and Eminence Patriarch Cardinal Mar Louis Raphael Sako, Patriarch of the Chaldeans in Iraq and the world, in which he deals with (the spread of Eastern Christianity in Al-Hira and the Arabian Gulf).  There are also two specialized files in this issue. The first is in the Arabic section on the Syriac press, which celebrated its 173rd anniversary on the first of last November.  And another, in the Kurdish section, on the great Syriac artist (Bakuri), who left our world in early November 2022.

 Banipal magazine is a cultural quarterly published by the General Directorate of Syriac Culture and Arts in the Kurdistan Region in four languages: Syriac, Arabic, Kurdish and English.
