The Director-General of Syriac Culture and Arts in the Kurdistan Region, Keldo Ramzi Oghna, and the Director of the Syriac Heritage and Museum, Bernard Yousef, received a group of Finnish researchers interested in Syriac and Eastern Christian heritage at the Syriac Heritage Museum in Ankawa on Sunday, September 7, 2025. They were accompanied by the General Superior of the Chaldean Antonine Order of Hormuzi, Bishop Dr. Samer Sorisho Yohanna.
The delegation toured the museum’s halls and viewed its exhibits and heritage collections. The delegation members expressed their admiration for the cultural heritage of our people, which dates back to the history of Mesopotamia, one of the oldest human civilizations in the world. They emphasized the importance of preserving this heritage and the necessity of passing it on to future generations to prevent its extinction.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the cultural reality of our people in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. Oghna emphasized that the doors of the General Directorate of Syriac Culture and Arts are open to cooperation with all individuals and institutions, working to elevate and develop our people’s culture across the country.
