Aramaic Language Grammar: A New Edition in the Syriac Culture Series

The General Directorate of Syriac Culture and Arts in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region, and within the Syriac Library’s Syriac Culture Series, continues to supply the cultural library with new and distinctive things. On Tuesday 16 April 2024, it issued an Aramaic language grammar book by Professor Sami Desho, which includes fifty chapters and is divided into two main parts, namely:

Morphology, including individual words from the various parts of speech: nouns of all kinds, adjectives, pronouns, adverbs, and everything related to them, in addition to the rules of jussiveness, ratios, diminutives, and others. It also includes verbs of all kinds, their conjugation, the formulation of their derivatives, and the connection of pronouns with them.

As for grammar, or what linguists call the structure of speech, it includes: the subject, types of object, subject, predicate, adverb, distinction, preference, emphasis, apposition, conjunction, types of letters, etc., with their provisions and laws of introduction, delay, and deletion, similar to the Arabic language.
The new edition bears the number 70 within the “Syriac Culture” series and contains 336 large-sized pages.
