On Wednesday 2 October 2024, during an official luncheon held at the Hyksos Hotel in Ankawa District, the Director General of Syriac Culture and Arts, Kaldo Ramzi Oghanna, appreciated the role of the cadres and members of the General Directorate of Syriac Culture and Arts, as well as all its affiliated directorates and institutions, calling for more efforts to preserve our heritage and culture.
Oghanna stressed in his speech that, “the directorate’s continued successes give us greater determination to work with sincerity and dedication to preserve our heritage and serve our interests,” noting that, “our successes are genuine and serve the reality and Syriac cultural scene in the homeland, in addition to its communication with the diaspora.”
Oghanna added, “This success comes only through everyone’s efforts. Our directorate’s collective work, its cooperation and openness to non-governmental, religious and national institutions, is the reason for achieving all these successes,” pointing to the role of the advisory bodies in the directorate in providing the administration with bright ideas that serve our people’s Syriac cultural reality in the homeland.
At the end of his speech, Oghanna appreciated “the role of the cadres, employees and members of the General Directorate of Syriac Culture and Arts, and all the directorates and institutions affiliated with it, for their distinguished efforts in making cultural events and activities a success, especially in the First Athra Syriac Symposium, which was organised last September by the directorate and the Yonan Hozaya Centre for Research and Future Studies in Erbil,” calling on all cadres to support this cooperation during the successful cultural activities and projects that are expected to be held during this year’s remaining period.
