Kaldo Ramzi Oghanna, Director General of Syriac Culture and Arts in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region, received Imad Salem Jajjo, the Federal Government’s Director General of Syriac Studies, accompanied by Nizar Hanna, Director General of Syriac Education in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region, on the morning of Wednesday morning 30 August 2023, at the Directorate building in Ankawa district centre.
During the meeting, the experience of Syriac education, the obstacles it faces, ways to overcome them, and the impact of this experience on the Syriac cultural reality in Iraq and the region were discussed. Oghanna affirmed the General Directorate’s readiness to cooperate with all Syriac educational institutions and our people’s cultural institutions in general, in a way that contributes to the development of the Syriac language.
The two guests praised the activities of the General Directorate of Syriac Culture and Arts and its various activities in our people’s various regions, stressing the readiness of their directorates to cooperate in the relevant fields.
