The Director General of Syriac Culture and Arts in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region, Kaldo Ramzi Oghanna, participated in the funeral and burial ceremonies of distinguished writer and educator, Nuri Boutros Atto, on the morning of Wednesday 30 August 2023, at the Church of the Mother of Perpetual Help in Ankawa district centre, Erbil.
The funeral ceremony was attended by the Kurdistan Regional Government’s Minister of Transport and Communications Anu Jawhar Abdoka, the Commissioner of Ankawa District Rami Nuri Siyawish, and a crowd of admirers and friends of the deceased.
It is worth noting that the General Directorate of Syriac Culture and Arts mourns the loss of the honorable writer, educator, and former parliamentarian Nuri Boutros Atto, who passed away on the evening of Tuesday 29 August 2023, in his hometown of Ankawa.
