The Syriac Association in Lebanon honored the Director General of Syriac Culture and Arts in the Kurdistan Region, Kaldo Ramzi Oghanna, during the celebration it held on the occasion of Mother’s Day, under the auspices of the Lebanese Foreign Minister Abdullah Bou Habib, and in the presence of the Governor of Beirut and the Ambassador of Sweden to Lebanon, On 20/3/2023.
The honoring came in appreciation of the role played by the Director General of Syriac Culture and Arts and the achievements made throughout his tenure as managing the General Directorate, in addition to the excellence in the accomplished cultural and artistic festivals and events, for which his administration played a prominent role in the Syriac cultural scene.
Oghanna gave great thanks and gratitude for this generous gesture that increases our determination to strengthen the interdependence between our institutions in Kurdistan, Iraq and Lebanon.
Oghanna stressed, “This honor bears a greater responsibility towards our culture, language, and ancient heritage, hoping that 2023 will be distinguished by the support of our people and the support of the regional government, especially the Prime Minister.
Oghanna congratulated those celebrating Mother’s Day and all mothers, and added, at the end of his speech, that I can only dedicate this tribute to my great supporter, my mother, who taught me to give in service to our culture, language, and heritage.
