On Sunday 3 March 2024, the Kurdistan Regional Government’s Culture and Youth Minister, Hama Hama Saeed, honored Director General of Syriac Culture and Arts Kaldo Ramzi Oghanna, with a letter of thanks and appreciation in recognition of his efforts in holding cultural activities and his generous role in the Syriac cultural scene inside and outside the Iraqi Kurdistan Region.
As was stated in the letter: “We are pleased to offer you our thanks and appreciation, and we value your efforts for all the work and efforts you have made in establishing activities inside and outside the Kurdistan Region. We highly value your work and efforts and wish you success and lasting achievements.”
It is worth noting that the General Directorate of Syriac Culture and Arts witnessed during the past two years, after Oghanna assumed the position of Director General, a qualitative leap in establishing and organising Syriac cultural activities and popular and artistic festivals, through which it attracted artistic figures from both inside and outside the country.
