Kaldo Ramzi Oghanna, Director General of Syriac Culture and Arts, participated on Sunday, May 11, 2025, in a celebration held by the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Erbil, marking the 80th anniversary of Russia’s victory over Nazism in World War II.
The event was attended by government and official figures from the Kurdistan Regional Government, His Holiness Mar Awa III Royel, Patriarch of the Assyrian Church of the East in Iraq and around the world, as well as diplomatic delegations from consulates and representations of countries present in the Kurdistan Region.
It is worth noting that Russia celebrates Victory Day on May 9 each year to commemorate the defeat of Nazi Germany in World War II.
