On Tuesday, 11 April 2023, the monument (Ankawa Harp of Peace) was inaugurated on Shalama Street in Ankawa district in Erbil.
The opening ceremony was attended by the honorable Metropolitans, Governor of Erbil Omid Khoshnaw, a number of administrative figures in the district, and a gathering of the people of Ankawa, where the District Commissioner of Ankawa district, Rami Nuri Odish, delivered a speech in which he thanked the businessmen who supported the establishment of this monument.
The monument was built to be a symbol of the revival of the Syriac letters, which intertwine with each other to form the structure of the harp, from which the idea of renewal and originality was inspired in the land of the fathers and grandfathers, which, together with water, is a symbol of life.
It is worth noting that the monument (Ankawa Harp of Peace) was completed under the direct supervision of the General Directorate of Syriac Culture and Arts and the financing of a number of businessmen in Ankawa, and the design was implemented by the young engineer Larry Shawky.
