The Syriac Arts Ensemble, affiliated with the General Directorate of Syriac Culture and Arts in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region, participated in the activities of the Inaugural Duhok Sky Folkloric Dance Festival, which was held under the auspices of the Kurdistan 24 Media Foundation, on Monday 29 April 2024, at the University of Duhok Conference Hall, under the slogan: “Happy Together.”
The festival’s activities, which lasted for two days, included folk dancing, red carpets and concerts, with the participation of a number of artists and artistic groups from inside and outside the Iraqi Kurdistan Region. The opening ceremony was attended by the Directorate of Syriac Culture and Arts’ Director in Duhok, Raed Jarjees.
The Syriac Arts Ensemble presented a folkloric show that expressed the Syriac heritage, which was well received by the audience who expressed their admiration for it.
It is worth noting that the Duhok Sky Folkloric Dance Festival was organised in cooperation between the Dance for Culture Organisation in Iraqi Kurdistan and the University of Duhok’s Cultural and Social Center.
