The General Directorate of Syriac Culture and Arts, in the person of its General Director, its cadres, employees, and its affiliated directorates, extends its congratulations and warm wishes to former Director General Dr. Robin Beit Shmuel, on the occasion of his assuming active membership in the Iraqi Scientific Academy.
At the same time as extending its congratulations to Dr. Bet Shmuel, the General Directorate wishes him success in serving our Syriac language and culture from his position in the Iraqi Scientific Academy.
It is worth noting that academic Robin Bet Shmuel, who holds a doctorate from the Lebanese University in Syriac language and literature, had served as Director General of Syriac Culture and Arts in the Kurdistan Regional Government for the period 2016-2021, and worked as a Syriac language professor in the Syriac Language Department at the University of Baghdad, where he served as the department’s first rapporteur between 2004 and 2006. He also worked as a lecturer in the Syriac Language Department at Salahaddin University in Erbil for the period 2016-2021.
