On Monday 15 January 2024, the Director General of Syriac Culture and Arts, Kaldo Ramzi Oghanna, honoured child talent Domiana Badr Faraj, who had participated in the show “Bakhdida’s Pain” during the activities of the First Syriac Theatre Festival, held between the 14th and 16th of last December.
Honouring the child Domiana came as an affirmation from the General Directorate in supporting emerging talents in order to continue their work and hone in on their talent.
Domiana had participated in a show performed by the Syriac Barmaya Ensemble from the Syrian city of Qamishli, titled: “Bakhdida’s Pain.” The enthusiasm the ensemble revived made the audience interact with applause and encouragement.
It is worth noting that the inaugural Syriac Theatre Festival, was launched in the Ankawa district on Thursday 14 December 2023, in the presence of a large group of Iraqi, Kurdish and Syriac artists and playwrights, at the hall of the Chaldean Culture Society.
