On Wednesday, May 21, 2025, the organizers of the 4th edition of the “Ankawa Christmas” Festival provided financial grants to several public schools in the Ankawa district of Erbil. This support aims to enhance the educational process and help students in our community complete their basic, secondary, and higher education.
The grants included financial assistance to purchase photocopy machines for the administrations of several public schools in Ankawa, including Ankawa High School, Ankawa Primary School, Ur Syriac High School, and Yazdandokht Primary School. This follows previous support provided by the festival’s organizers to other schools.
The grants were handed over during a meeting at the Syriac Directorate of Culture and Arts in Ankawa, where the General Director, Mr. Kaldo Ramzi Oghanna welcomed the principals and teaching staff of the supported schools.
Earlier this month, the festival organizers had also provided financial support to other public schools in the Ankawa district, including Ankawa Co-ed Secondary School, Akitu Boys’ Secondary School, Hammurabi Syriac Primary School, and Zaga School.
It is worth noting that the 4th edition of the Ankawa Christmas Festival concluded on January 4, 2025. It was organized by the Ankawa Festival Platform under the sponsorship of the Syriac Directorate of Culture and Arts, in cooperation with the Academic Social Center and the Ankawa Youth Social Club.
