In celebration of April 1st – Akitu, our national New Year, and in tribute to the deep-rooted heritage inherited from the great civilizations of Babylon, and Assyria. The General Directorate of Syriac Culture and Arts in the Kurdistan Regional Government, in collaboration with the Directorate of Syriac Heritage and Museum, invites you to join the opening of the fifth Syriac Heritage Festival. This four-day event, running from April 7-10, 2025, will begin with a parade showcasing the rich Mesopotamian heritage. The march will start in front of Ankawa Bahradaran High School and proceed to the festival grounds next to the Syriac Heritage Museum, located opposite the historic Qasra hill in the heart of Ankawa, Erbil Governorate.
