On Monday 4 November 2024, a delegation from the General Directorate of Syriac Culture and Arts in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region participated in a ceremony held by the US Consulate General in Erbil, on the occasion of American National Day. This was in the presence of the Kurdistan Regional Government’s Prime Minister, His Excellency Masrour Barzani, US Ambassador to Iraq Alina Romanowski, and Consul General in Erbil Steve Bitner.
The delegation included Director General Kaldo Ramzi Oghanna, Syriac Heritage and Museum Director Bernard Youssef, and a number of the Directorate’s employees. His participation came at the invitation of the US Consulate in Erbil, to the celebration held on the 248th anniversary of the founding of the United States of America, at the Rotana Hotel in Erbil.
The celebration ceremony was attended by an official delegation of government officials in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region, a number of political and administrative figures, members of the diplomatic corps, and representatives of countries in Erbil, as well as representatives of components, political parties, and civil society institutions in the Region.
