On the evening of Sunday 3 December 2023, the Supreme Preparatory Committee for the Ankawa Christmas Festival held a meeting at the Ankawa Youth Social Club to discuss its latest logistical and artistic preparations. The festival’s activities will begin during the Christmas and New Year holidays in the Ankawa District Centre in Erbil Governorate.
The meeting was attended by the Director General of Syriac Culture and Arts, Kaldo Ramzi Oghanna, the President of the Social Academic Center, Jalal Habib Aziz, and the President of the Ankawa Youth Social Club, Kanar Basse. It witnessed discussions of festival’s logistical and artistic preparations, as well as its registration mechanism. The festival is being held under the auspices of the Mayor of Ankawa District and the General Directorate of Syriac Culture and Arts, with the participation of a number of youth and social civil society organisations, in the gardens of the Academic Social Center in Ankawa.
