On Thursday 6 June 2024, the Director General of Syriac Culture and Arts in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region, Kaldo Ramzi Oghanna, received a delegation of the Assyrian Democratic Organisation (Mtakasta) at the directorate’s building in Ankawa District Centre. This was headed by the Organisation’s administrator, Gabriel Moshe, and a number of members of the Organisation’s leadership active in Syria.
During the meeting, Oghanna gave a brief explanation of the activities of the General Directorate of Syriac Culture and Arts, and its contributions to supporting the Syriac cultural reality in Iraq, the Kurdistan Region, and the wider area. During his speech, he indicated that the Directorate’s doors are open to cooperation with all individuals and institutions related to our people in Iraq and neighboring countries.
In turn, Moshe praised the General Directorate of Syriac Culture and Arts’ role in promoting the Syriac cultural reality in the region, especially through its activities that bring together our people from the various areas in which they are present throughout the Kurdistan Region, Iraq and neighboring countries.
