The delegation of General Directorate of Syriac Culture and Arts in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region visited the Ankawa Social Youth Club on Saturday evening, 19 August 2023, to congratulate the president and members of the newly elected club’s new administrative body.
The delegation was headed by Kaldo Ramzi Oghanna, General Director of Syriac Culture and Arts, accompanied by Bernard Youssef, Director of Syriac Heritage and the Museum, and it included a number of heads of departments.
During the visit, Oghanna stressed the importance of the Ankawa Youth Club as a cultural and social space that includes the town’s youth, gathers them, and unleashes their energies. He warned of the necessity of listening to the youth as the builders of the future, absorbing their proposals and working with their renewable ideas to serve their aspirations and encourage this important segment of our people to survive and cling to the land of our fathers and grandfathers, stressing the readiness of the General Directorate to cooperate with our people’s cultural, social and artistic institutions at all levels and to discuss ways to solve problems, as well as obstacles to the process of renewal and development.
The president and members of the new administrative body of the Ankawa Youth Club expressed their thanks and appreciation for the contributions of the General Directorate of Syriac Culture and Arts in supporting the youth cultural and artistic movement, hoping that the joint cooperation will result in more distinguished events and activities.
