On Tuesday 27 February 2024, the Kurdistan Regional Government’s Director General of Syriac Culture and Arts, Kaldo Ramzi Oghanna, received a delegation from the Armenian Social Cultural Association in Erbil at the directorate building in Ankawa District Centre, including Nubar Sipan Gharib and Talin Wanes Akop.
During the visit, there was talk about the possibility of joint cooperation in order to hold an Armenian heritage festival in Erbil. The visiting delegation confirmed that the activities of the General Directorate in highlighting Syriac heritage and culture is an incentive for the association to hold a special festival for Armenian heritage that highlights the role of Armenians in the structure of Kurdistani and Iraqi society.
Oghanna confirmed that the doors of the General Directorate are open for cooperation with all cultural, artistic and social institutions related to all of the country’s components.
