On Wednesday, May 14, 2025, a delegation from the General Directorate of Syriac Culture and Arts visited the headquarters of the Chaldean Syriac Assyrian Popular Council in Ankawa to extend their congratulations on the occasion of the Council’s 18th anniversary. The delegation was warmly received by the President of the Council, Mr. Jamil Zaito, along with several members of the leadership committee.
The visiting delegation included General Director Mr. Kaldo Ramzi Oghanna, Director of Syriac Heritage and Museum Mr. Bernard Yousif, Administrative Director Mr. Fouad Shamoon, Director of the Syriac Library Ms. Fayha Shamoon, along with several staff members from the directorate. They offered their sincere congratulations to the Popular Council, one of the active political organizations representing our people in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
During the meeting, both sides discussed ways to enhance mutual cooperation. Mr. Oghanna emphasized that the doors of the General Directorate of Syriac Culture and Arts are always open to collaboration with all institutions in efforts to serve and preserve the heritage and culture of our people.
