The General Directorate of Syriac Culture and Arts participated in the celebration held by the Armenian Consulate in the Kurdistan Region on the occasion of the two year anniversary of the opening of the consulate, on the morning of Sunday 26 February 2023, at the Pishawa Hall in the Ministry of Culture and Youth building.
Mr. Hama Hama Saeed, Minister of Culture and Youth, gave a speech in which he talked about the history and common destiny of the Kurds and Armenians throughout history, stressing his feeling of pride in the presence of Armenians in the villages of Dohuk Governorate, and that allocating a parliamentary seat to represent the Armenians in the Parliament of Kurdistan confirms this common friendship, which will exist through work and solidarity. .
The celebration included a display of manuscripts in which the Kurdish calligraphy and its use by the Armenians were discussed, followed by the opening of an art exhibition in which a collection of pictures and books that refer to those national minorities in Armenia were presented.
