The General Directorate of Syriac Culture and Arts organised a lecture on “The Role of Culture in the Reality of Climate Change” by Dr. Montaser Sabah Al-Hasnawi, Iraqi Federal Government’s Director General of the Palace of Conferences Department and Head of the Climate Change Team at the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities. The lecture was held at the Syriac Heritage Museum’s hall in Ankawa, on the evening of Thursday 23 November 2023.
The lecturer touched on the topic of climate change and its impact on Iraq and the world. He also addressed the problem of global warming and the concerns resulting from the effects of the expanding drought in Iraq and its connection to irrigation systems and traditional agriculture, especially in central and southern Iraq.
